Ribe – veni, vidi, vici.
Another eating place on the best restaurant street, i.e. Vene Street, in Tallinn. Restaurant Ribe is quite young and was opened for visitors in July 2007. The owners of the restaurant, however, had been thinking of opening a restaurant as long as for 15 years. As the saying goes, Rome was not built in a day! And Ribe is also a case in point since its interior is beautiful, though simple and modern. There are lots of details that one can not help smiling at. The presence of one of the three owners to wait on the guests also adds to the one-of-the-kind feel of the place. The menu draws upon the classical dishes prepared along the principles of French cuisine. Yet the raw material is, to the greatest possible extent, Estonian and the nuances of the dishes are also more suited to local tastes.
