Gruusia Saatkond – why not turn all embassies into restaurants?

Although they have been active for a decade, this year Gruusia Saatkond may be regarded as the restaurant delivering the greatest surprise in Tartu. There is a simple and straightforward reason for that – a new grill oven, which allows preparing coal and grilling meat at the same time. 

The requests for grilled meat soared. The menu shortened, but certainly improved, and people noticed it. The drinks have a Georgian taste, too – Borjomi mineral water, homemade Tarhun lemonade and of course wines. 

Gruusia Saatkond is the embassy for first-rate Georgian food and drink, although when you think about it, there would be less politics and more good relations if all embassies doubled as restaurants!
